This is a really clever idea! Unfortunately the API doesn't seem to work

RowanFuture responds:

I'll check it out! thanks

The presentation got me, from the music to the vibrant visuals. Though with all the chaos on screen, it became hard to distinguish important gameplay elements like bullets apart from particle effects. My first couple of plays I couldn't tell why I had died.

Also, I recognize the Ferrite Core font by Froyo Tam anywhere.

picrossin responds:

One of my fav fonts! Love Froyo's work

I love the cutscenes and dialogue! super charming

JAM-POWER responds:

Thank You Very Much!! I really appreciate it!

I had an idea very similar to this. Cool to see somebody actually make it!

MMFan2004 responds:

Thanks. I also have a plan to make an Art collab of my own.

This is a great idea, thanks for working on this. Worked fine on with my gamecube controller using an adapter to hook into my Windows computer using Firefox. Only thing I wanna point out is that the camera slowly & constantly drifts unless my mouse is set upside down while using a gamepad. I would love to use the system in future games if an implementation was available for Phaser / Haxeflixel.

3p0ch responds:

Oh, if you're using Firefox then that's not a gamepad issue -- that's an issue with mouse motion in Firefox. You can try changing your browser's zoom to see if that fixes it, or try another browser.

Since I've already gotten the SaveHandler code working for HaxeFlixel and Phaser, those should be easy to port to and at the top of my list. Although if this does work well I think first I'll try to make as lightweight as possible of a JavaScript implementation so people can open it from their games to configure gamepads and then have it auto-close when it's done.

This is a nice NG tradition honestly, I look forward to it. This year I’m gunnin for all the medals

Do it do it do it

What framework / engine was this made with?

spazgunk responds:

Construct 3 :)

When I was a kid my first "game" was a powerpoint slideshow that was supposed to be Whack a Mole. Each slide was a drawing of the mole coming out of another hole and you were supposed to click it. Obviously it didn't matter where you clicked, it would move on to the next slide anyways.

SuperDavisDon responds:

Nice that's good to know. I never knew you can play whack a mole on PowerPoint? Cool.

A month tends to be about the time it takes to make a first game no matter how simple it is. Especially for a first attempt at making a game, this is pretty good. I think there's totally potential here if you wanted to build on this concept somewhere down the road.

Though I hope you knew what you were doing when you called the game "Mr Fister"...

ReFlare responds:

Its a fun word to say, what can I say?

How did you rewrite the Source engine and remake the game so faithfully?? You even got the voice actress for GlaDOS to record extra lines, this is crazy.

ZabuJard responds:

Congrats on your front page game bro. Give me tips to get front page

No more bananas. This ape only wants powerade.
